About Cherished Ancestors
To be able to understand family history in its entirety I studied and gained a degree module in ‘family history 1700-1900’ through Lancashire University. This has enabled me to understand the demographics of family life, births, marriages, and deaths. Family migration and possibilities of why it happened, certain diseases and how this affected the family unit.
I run an Internet based “family History” research company and can conduct parish record research within Somerset. I run ‘Cherished Ancestors’ as an extended hobby, rather than for an income and my prices reflect this. I do not charge by the hour as in my 25 years experience in one hour you can either find a mountain of information or absolutely nothing, within my own family tree certain anomalies have taken many hours to unravel, however if one of your ancestors proves elusive or you would like a bit more background history if available and you would like a more intensive search I charge £10 per each hour until hopefully found. It is of course at your discretion how long this type of research extends.
